Carrier Channel Sales & Business Development Executive

Summary

The Carrier Channel Sales & Business Development Executive plays a key role on the sales team, engaging with insurance and annuity carrier customers to drive revenue growth, build strong relationships, and expand adoption of Ensight’s sales enablement solutions. This individual works closely with carrier partners to understand their needs, demonstrate the value of Ensight’s platform, and develop strategic initiatives that enhance sales performance for life insurance, annuities, and LTC products.

Responsibilities

The Carrier Channel Sales & Business Development Executive is responsible for identifying, developing, and managing strategic relationships with key carrier customers to drive business growth and achieve organizational goals. This role involves overseeing sales initiatives, negotiating agreements, and ensuring mutually beneficial outcomes for the organization and its customers. The ideal candidate will possess strong leadership, communication, and strategic planning skills.  This role will create and execute go-to-market strategies for carrier engagement collaborating across all go to market cross functional teams (Marketing, Sales, Customer Success, Product Management and Engineering).

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and manage relationships with key insurance carrier customers, serving as their primary point of contact and strategic partner.
  • Drive revenue growth by identifying opportunities to expand adoption of Ensight’s sales enablement platform within carrier organizations.
  • Engage in consultative sales to understand customer needs, deliver tailored solutions, and demonstrate the value of Ensight’s technology for life insurance, annuities, and LTC sales.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and presentations to contract negotiations and closing deals.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with internal teams—including product, marketing, and customer success—to ensure seamless onboarding and long-term success for carrier partners.
  • Monitor industry trends and competitor activity to proactively address market needs and position Ensight as a leader in insurance sales enablement.
  • Lead account planning and growth strategies to deepen partnerships with existing carrier customers and uncover new business opportunities.
  • Track and report sales performance metrics, providing insights and recommendations to drive continuous improvement.
  • Host and participate in company meetings and updates to ensure cohesion across departments.
  • Attend and present at conferences and networking events to increase sales opportunities and boost brand recognition.

 

Qualifications

  • Education:
    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Experience:
    • Proven experience 5-10+ years in sales, business development, or a related role.
    • Demonstrated success in negotiating contracts, managing high-value relationships, and closing enterprise-level deals.
    • SaaS background, ideally in the Fintech or Insurtech space.
    • Familiarity with selling and contracting technical software solutions.
    • Life and Annuities market expertise, with extra emphasis on Annuities.
    • Experience in carrier sales is a plus.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to initiate and engage with new customers, build strong relationships, and develop new business opportunities from the ground up.
    • Strong consultative selling skills with the ability to understand client needs and position solutions effectively.
    • Skilled at account planning and expansion, including identifying upsell and cross-sell opportunities within existing accounts.
    • Ability to articulate value propositions clearly and confidently in meetings, presentations, and proposals.
    • Comfortable working with sales leadership, product, and marketing teams to tailor messaging and align on go-to-market strategy.
    • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.
    • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
    • Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
    • Proficiency in CRM tools and partnership management software is a plus.

Working Environment & Physical Demands        

This role works primarily remotely, approximately 80% of the time, but also spends time traveling outside of an office approximately 20% of the time to meet with potential and existing customers in person. This position requires flexible hours and significant travel within the US. The person in this role must be able to operate a vehicle, spend several hours on an airplane, read, write, type, perform work on a computer, use a cell phone, bend, kneel, stand, sit and verbally communicate with contacts and customers both face to face and virtually.
