National Sales Manager or Senior Sales Representative

Summary
One of our clients, a fast growing multi-million dollar privately held technology company is a seeking a National Sales Manager or Senior Sales Representative who will be responsible for generating new sales and business development opportunities of a SaaS application for the U.S. market. The SaaS application is purposed built to meet the needs of a rapidly growing segment of the commercial property & casualty market for insurance carriers, MGA’s, brokers, risk retention groups and Insurtech firms – it is meant to be used by any solo practitioner or organization looking to sell and service insurance coverage. The desired candidate for this role is a confident, self-driven person with an entrepreneurial mindset who can work independently, generate leads, clearly communicate our value proposition and close sales. The role requires insurance and technology experience and/or having been with an Insurtech firm.
General
- The role reports directly into a senior executive or C-suite.
- This position can be based anywhere within the continental United States within Central and Eastern time zones with a preference for the Greater Chicago area, or a large metropolitan city.
- Domestic travel within the U.S. is required.
- 5 to 10+ years of sales experience in Insurance and SaaS technology, or Insurtech experience is required.
Description
- The primary purpose of this role is to “hunt” and generate new business and work with existing and new ecosystem partners.
- Have a strong network and understanding at the cross section of insurance and software solution providers.
- Work directly with the internal marketing and outbound sales campaign team.
- Generate new sales opportunities.
- Prospect, build a strong sales pipeline.
- Build new relationships and close sales and achieve revenue targets.
- Leverage your existing network to generate leads and sales.
- Working with the internal sales team, provide input and support overall marketing and growth strategy.
Major Duties/Responsibilities
- Pro-active development of new business.
- Lead and personally undertake sales activities from initial contact until sale closure. This will include contacting prospects face-to-face as well as electronically, attending conferences and marketing events.
- Build and maintain relationships with key prospects, decision makers, alliance partners and industry experts.
- Client demonstrations, preparation of detailed quotations and proposals that fully meet client expectations, as well as minimize risk.
- Follow corporate procedures and guidelines for quotation review and accept responsibility for the scope, accuracy and award of these proposals.
- Clearly articulate the overall value proposition and specifically the features and benefits of our set of core software products.
- Forecast sales activity and revenue achievement in CRM.
- Achieve target sales, quotas on consistent basis.
- Maintain a solid knowledge of the application and its underlying technology, the range of existing product functionality, features and consulting services.
- Represent organization at trade shows, conferences, industry meetings and other avenues to initiate new sales.
- Provide feedback into marketing strategies and product development.
- Network with industry leaders, alliance partners, industry vendors, competitors and participate in industry forums.
- Ensure deal visibility and accountability at key points in the sales cycle.

- Six figure base salary (commensurate with experience) + unlimited commission structure
